What the Clubhouse Actually Offers

Sonora Hills was built as a gated, age-restricted community with its own amenities. The clubhouse hosts gatherings and celebrations. There is a swimming pool, a spa, a workout room, and walking trails that wind through the property's 236 home sites. It is a real amenity package, and it is the reason a lot of people chose the community in the first place.

What the clubhouse does not run is a standing weekly and monthly program of games, classes, and meals. That is not a knock on the property. It is simply not what an HOA clubhouse is built to do. The organization built to do exactly that is a short drive away, on the same road.

The Fixed Points on the Calendar

Sierra Senior Providers keeps the Senior Center open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed on holidays. Inside that window, two events anchor the month with dates you can put on a calendar and trust:

Bingo runs every first Saturday. Veterans Breakfast runs every first Thursday. Neither one moves around. If you know the date, you know exactly when to show up.

The thrift store is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., which means it operates on a near-daily basis rather than as an occasional pop-up. Proceeds from Bingo specifically benefit the Senior Center's lunch program, so playing a card is also a small act of funding the meal service that keeps the building running.

That scale showed up in the news this summer in a specific way. An anonymous donor recently funded the purchase of a new 2026 Subaru Forester to replace an aging Meals on Wheels delivery vehicle, a fleet the organization has described as showing its age. And on August 21, 2026, Sierra Senior Providers ran its major annual fundraiser, the Meals on Wheels Radiothon called "More Than A Meal," broadcast live on Star 92.7 and KKBN 93.5 from 9 a.m. to noon. The Sonora Area Foundation matched community donations up to $25,000 and added a $10,000 sponsorship on top of that.

None of that is the kind of thing you'd know unless you were paying attention to what happens a few miles down your own road.

The card table, the thrift store rack, and the meal delivery route all run out of the same building. It is a bigger operation than its parking lot suggests.
